Student Help and Research Day at the Vermont Historical Society, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Vermont History Center, 60 Washington Street, Barre, VT

Students can receive help with their projects, research Vermont history topics at the library, or consult with History Day experts. Pre-registration is required as the library is open by appointment only. Online help via Zoom or Google Meet is also available. Registration Deadline at 11:59 pm for ALL entries including project titles and website url addresses. This deadline is in place to allow for time to arrange details for the contest. Registration is due either soon after or during February vacation. Please plan ahead! Late entries may not be accepted.

Use online registration system (preferred) or printable entry form.

The registration fee is $8.00 per student. Credit card payments can be made through the online registration system. Checks can be mailed to the Vermont Historical Society, 109 State Street, Montpelier, VT 05609.  Registration fees must be paid before the state contest.

Submission Deadline for all entries. Judges will receive entries before the contest date and need time to read and review the projects before meeting with students.

Cancellation Deadline: Schools or parents are responsible for payment of the registration fee for all students registered for the contest on this date. Registration fees for students who cancel after this date will not be refunded except under extenuating circumstances. Changes to titles, categories or participants made after this date may not be reflected in judging assignments or documentation.

Virtual Vermont History Day State Contest with online judging for all categories. The exact schedule will depend on the number of participating students. We anticipate that all interviews with students and judges via Zoom will take place between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. Additional information will be available after the student registration deadline.

We will be as flexible as possible to accommodate all students, including any who selected a project category based on the preliminary judging plan announced in the fall of 2020.
